Terms of Use

By downloading, installing, or using Riser ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. The Service

Riser is an alarm clock and wake-up routine app that uses interactive missions, streaks, and habit tracking to help you wake up earlier.

2. Account

You may use Riser anonymously or sign in with an account. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. You must be at least 13 years old to use Riser.

3. Subscriptions ("Riser Pro")

  • Riser offers monthly and annual subscriptions branded as Riser Pro.
  • Subscription pricing is shown in the app at the time of purchase and may vary by region.
  • Free trials: if a free trial is offered, it converts to a paid subscription automatically at the end of the trial unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
  • Auto-renewal: subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled.
  • Cancellation: cancel any time through your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • Refunds: refund requests are handled by Apple or Google according to their respective refund policies. We do not process refunds directly.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract source code from the App
  • Resell, sublicense, or redistribute access to the App
  • Use the App in a way that could harm, disable, or impair our services
  • Attempt to bypass paywall, entitlement, or authentication mechanisms

5. Intellectual Property

All content in the App — including missions, sounds, designs, and trademarks — is owned by Riser or our licensors. You receive a limited, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.

6. User Content

If you submit any content (e.g. profile picture, custom alarm labels), you retain ownership but grant us a worldwide license to store and display that content as needed to provide the service.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that alarms will fire reliably under all OS-level battery and notification conditions.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Riser is not liable for:

  • Missed alarms or oversleeping
  • Lost productivity or missed appointments
  • Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

You are responsible for ensuring you wake up on time, including by using a backup alarm where stakes are high.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Riser is incorporated. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. We will announce material changes in-app. Continued use after changes indicates your acceptance.
